Now TMC leader in Rajya Sabha, Derek O’Brien has said a big thing about Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday (June 19). He said plainly, "Reaching out to Patnaik may prove difficult as the BJD is unofficially aligned with the BJP."

He said, "Patnaik did not attend the NITI Aayog meeting in New Delhi on 27 May. Opposition parties completely boycotted the inauguration program of the new parliament building but the BJD chief sent a delegation of 21 party MPs to the ceremony and distanced himself from the decision of non-BJP parties to boycott the event Had taken. There are two people who are taking the side of fascism and one of them is Naveen Patnaik who is informally with BJP."

What else TMC MP said about Naveen Patnaik 

MP Derek O’Brien said, "Patnaik will not speak about the pathetic condition of Manipur or the burning of 250 churches there. Senior opposition leaders have been trying to contact Patnaik, with Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and his West Bengal counterpart Mamata Banerjee visiting. TMC chief Mamata Banerjee and JDU chief Nitish Kumar had met Patnaik to persuade him to join the opposition ranks as part of the eastern grouping of four states in the region but it did not materialise."

Mega meeting of opposition in Patna on June 23
