Agartala Jul 14: Indian Pharmacists Association, Tripura State Branch on Friday expressed gratitude towards the state chief minister Dr Manik Saha and the government over notification issued for recruitment of 200 pharmacists under the health department.
Addressing the press, Ayan Basu secretary IPA TSB said, “We are extremely grateful towards the state government under chief minister Dr Manik Saha for taking the decision of recruitment of 200 qualified pharmacists under the state health department”.
“It was since 2016 that the recruitment of pharmacists was not done in the state and the qualified unemployed youths were spending days in distress. We organized several protests and also wrote to the chief minister and finally our plea has been granted”, he said.
Basu further said, “We hope that more such recruitments will be done in future to fill up the vacant posts”.
The association however mentioned some important demands to be considered during the recruitment process in interest of the worthy candidates.
These includes; Diploma Exit Exam through Tripura State Pharmacy Council (TPSC) to check upon fake pharmacy certificate holders, to reconstitute the nominated members of Tripura State Pharmacy Council (TSPC) and elect the remaining 6 seats as soon as possible and when the Tripura State Pharmacy Council (TSPC) is fully formed to work in the interest of pharmacists and public of the state, right to provide minor ailments services in our states like Himachal Pradesh, Assam and Odisha among others.
The members of Tripura State Branch of Indian Pharmacists Association requested the government to consider the demands so that worthy candidates are selected into the posts.
