Madhya Pradesh Election 2023: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday (May 29) claimed that his party will win 150 seats in the state regarding the assembly elections to be held in Madhya Pradesh in November-December this year. Rahul’s statement of 150 seats was taunted by the BJP. Statements came from Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and BJP National General Secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya. 1. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge held a meeting with senior leaders of the party’s state unit in Delhi on Monday (May 29) regarding preparations for the Madhya Pradesh assembly elections to be held later this year. Rahul Gandhi and party’s organization general secretary KC Venugopal attended the meeting. Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee President and former Chief Minister Kamal Nath, former Chief Minister Digvijay Singh, state in-charge of the party Jayaprakash Agarwal and many other senior leaders attended the meeting. Organization and election preparations were discussed in the meeting.
2. Rahul Gandhi said that his party is going to repeat the performance of Karnataka in Madhya Pradesh assembly elections also and it will get 150 seats there. After the meeting, he said, “We had a long discussion. Our internal assessment is that we are going to get 150 seats in Madhya Pradesh. Karnataka has got 136 seats. What we have done in Karnataka, we are going to repeat in Madhya Pradesh.” Asked if Kamal Nath would be the chief ministerial face of the Congress in Madhya Pradesh, Rahul Gandhi only said, “We are going to get 150 seats. .”
3. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan taunted the statement of Congress winning 150 seats. He said, “Galib ye khayal achcha hai, khayali pulav pakate hai.” With this, CM Chouhan claimed that the ruling BJP will win more than 200 seats in the 230-member House of MP. He said that BJP has also given the slogan ‘Abki Baar, 200 Paar’.
4. Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia took a jibe at Rahul Gandhi’s statement of 150 seats, saying, “Congress’s difficulty is that the meeting is in Delhi, the statement is in Delhi and the state of Madhya Pradesh is So there is a crisis in Congress. The people of Madhya Pradesh are pleading that Delhi is very far away. Kamal Nath ji’s government was in power for 15 months, the loan was not waived off, that’s why no one will believe the words of Rahul Gandhi ji. If the Congress gets 50 seats, I will consider it a huge victory for the Congress.”
