Agartala Jul 08: In a bid to support the Budget 2023-24 presented by the state finance minister at Tripura legislative assembly on Friday last, the state unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced to organize ‘Thanksgiving Rally’ across the state on July 10, next.
Announcing the same in a press meet on Saturday, state BJP president Rajib Bhattacharjee said, “The Budget 2023-24 presented by the finance minister aims to cater the needs of almost every section of the common people starting from the working class, daily wagers, peasants, youth and others. Besides, the various schemes presented during the first day of the budget sessions clearly proves the government’s intentions towards welfare and development of the masses”.
Therefore, to welcome and congratulate the chief minister, finance minister and the state government for gifting the people of Tripura with such a pro-people budget, that completely satisfies the government’s goal towards ‘Ek Tripura Srestha Tripura’, ‘Dhanyawad Rally’ (Thanksgiving rally) will be organized in all the 10 organizational districts of the party on Monday next, i.e July 10, said Rajib Bhattacharjee.
Highlighting the decisions presented though the budget, Bhattacharjee said, “The budget included a health insurance scheme to cover the marginalised sections of society and another scheme to give free scooters to meritorious girl students”.
“The Chief Minister Jan Arogya Yojana-2023, a health insurance plan, on the lines of the Ayushman Bharat scheme of the Central government. Under the scheme, the families who are not included in Ayushman Bharat will get health insurance benefits of up to Rs. 5 lakh each year. All these are commendable initiatives”, said the BJP state president.
Apart from that, Rajib Bhattacharjee criticized the opposition MLAs for creating a ruckus on the opening day of state assembly adding that, “The act of the opposition leaders has tarnished the sanctity of the house”.
State BJP spokesperson Nabendu Bhattacharjee also remained present at the day’s press conference.
