NSA Ajit Doval: India’s National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval met China’s top diplomat Wang Yi in Johannesburg, South Africa. During this, bilateral relations were discussed between the two. The military standoff between India and China has been going on in eastern Ladakh for the last three years. Jaishankar has described it as the most complex challenge of his long diplomatic career. India has made it clear that until peace is maintained in the border area, bilateral relations cannot be normalised.

China’s official news agency ‘Xinhua’ According to , Wang said in his meeting with Doval that the two countries should enhance mutual strategic trust, focus on consensus and cooperation, remove bottlenecks and put bilateral relations on the path of strong and stable development as soon as possible.

Cyber security was mentioned
Earlier, on Monday, Doval addressed the ‘Friends of BRICS’ In the meeting called for collective efforts to deal with the challenges arising out of cyber security. BRICS and ‘Friends of BRICS’ Also held several bilateral discussions with their counterparts from the countries of the group. South Africa will host the BRICS summit next month.
