This is the 15th edition of bilateral joint military exercise ‘Nomadic Elephant-23’ i.e. ‘Nomadic Elephant-23’ which will run from July 17 to 31. Nomadic Elephant is an annual training event held alternately in Mongolia and India is organized from Its previous edition was held in October 2019 at Special Forces Training School, Bakloh, Himachal Pradesh.

What is the purpose of this military exercise with Mongolia?

In this military exercise, soldiers of Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry Regiment of Indian Army and soldiers of Mongolian Armed Forces Unit 084 are participating. The aim of the exercise is to build positive military-to-military relations, exchange best practices and develop interoperability, camaraderie and friendship between the two armies, said a Defense Ministry statement.
