India Mongolia Joint Military Exercise: Soldiers of India and Mongolia are going to conduct a joint military exercise. This joint military exercise will be held in Mongolia’s Ulaanbaatar. According to the Defense Ministry statement, a contingent of 43 Indian Army personnel left for Mongolia on Sunday (July 16) to participate in the exercise. 

This is the 15th edition of bilateral joint military exercise ‘Nomadic Elephant-23’ i.e. ‘Nomadic Elephant-23’ which will run from July 17 to 31. Nomadic Elephant is an annual training event held alternately in Mongolia and India is organized from Its previous edition was held in October 2019 at Special Forces Training School, Bakloh, Himachal Pradesh.

What is the purpose of this military exercise with Mongolia?

In this military exercise, soldiers of Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry Regiment of Indian Army and soldiers of Mongolian Armed Forces Unit 084 are participating. The aim of the exercise is to build positive military-to-military relations, exchange best practices and develop interoperability, camaraderie and friendship between the two armies, said a Defense Ministry statement.

India and Mongolia share a commitment to regional security and cooperation.
