IAS Shah Faesal said on Article 370, ‘Now the decision cannot be taken back and for me…’ -aabtak24

Shah Faesal On Article 370: The matter of Article 370 will be heard in the Supreme Court on July 11. The matter of challenging its repeal was handed over to the Constitution Bench in the year 2019, but till now the hearing has not taken place. IAS officer Shah Faisal had filed a petition in the Supreme Court on the matter. Now his statement has come to the fore.

Talking to the news agency PTI, Shah Faesal told that he has withdrawn the petition long ago. This is just the title of the group of petitions and the name will change once the order is issued. Article 370 is a destiny. The Kashmir of today bears little resemblance to the Kashmir of 2019.

What did Shah Faesal say about Article 370?

Shah Faesal tweeted and said, "For many Kashmiris like me, 370 is a thing of the past. The Jhelum and the Ganges have merged forever into the great Indian Ocean. It cannot be withdrawn. Only move forward."

370, for many Kashmiris like me, is a thing of the past.

Jhelum and Ganga have merged into the great Indian Ocean for good.

There is no going back. There is only marching forward.

Requested to remove the name from the list

According to the Supreme Court website, a five-judge bench will hear several petitions, including one filed by IAS officer Shah Faesal, to pass the guidelines. However, Faesal had filed an application in April last year, seeking his name to be removed from the list of those seven petitioners.

Who is Shah Faesal?

Shah Faesal is an IAS officer of 2010 batch. Faisal had topped the Civil Services Examination and was posted in Jammu and Kashmir. In January 2019, he resigned and formed his own party ‘Jammu-Kashmir People’s Movement’ along with Shehla Rashid. A doctor by profession, Faisal was later posted in the Union Ministry of Culture.
