Himanta Biswa Sarma On Manipur Violence: Ever since the video of two women being paraded naked in Manipur went viral, the opposition parties have besieged the BJP and the Modi government at the Centre. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Friday (July 21), "Congress is waging a war against Manipur because Manipur is being run by the BJP government. The concern of the Congress party should not be limited to Manipur only."

Opposition should pay attention to their states too

Himanta Biswa Sarma said, "Congress party should also think about serious crime against women in their states. The opposition should also pay attention to what is going on in Rajasthan and West Bengal. They should not target the state of Manipur. It is a peace loving state."

Himanta Biswa Sarma claims

Himanta Biswa Sarma claimed, "The case against the video was registered long back, the video was available but it was leaked before the day of the Parliament session. Whatever may be the date of release of the video, the incident should be condemned, the guilty should be punished, I have no objection in this. But you should not bring Manipur state and entire Northeast India to the fore and make it a weapon to defame the region."

Actually, in the shocking video that went viral on social media amid the Manipur violence, two women have been paraded naked in front of the public and sexually assaulted. There has been widespread public outrage and strong condemnation against the video.
