Gyanvapi Mosque Case: On the permission given by the Varanasi court to survey the Gyanvapi complex in Uttar Pradesh, the Muslim side has said that it will approach the High Court after reading the order. At the same time, Hindu organizations have welcomed the court’s decision.

The Varanasi court on Friday (July 21) gave its verdict on the demand for survey of the Gyanvapi complex. Accepting the demand of the Hindu side, the court granted permission to conduct an archaeological and scientific survey of the entire Gyanvapi complex except the Vajukhana.

On the matter, the lawyers of the Muslim side Tauheed Khan and Raees Ahmed have said that they will go to the High Court after reading the order and will get the copy of the order tomorrow (July 22).

What did the lawyer for the Muslim side say?

Muslim side’s lawyer Mohammad Tauheed Khan said, “The Honorable District Judge read out that the application for the ASI survey has been approved.” Except that part which is sealed (Vajukhana) from the Supreme Court and asked to submit the report by August 4. Now after taking copy, further strategy will be decided after observing the orders. 

The lawyer of the Hindu side gave this information

He said, “Now a very technical survey is going to happen in which particles will be taken, ground penetrating radar will be installed, a lot of modern technology will be used, geologists will come, different scientists will come in the ambit of ASI, so now this ASI has to decide how much time it will take.” 

In how many days the survey will be completed?

Advocate Vishnu Shankar Jain said, “I want to give you this assessment that when the decision of ASI was taken in 2002 on the time of Ram Mandir, the report of ASI came in 2005. It took three years but the area there was also very big. It is only my guess that this survey exercise will be completed within three to six months.” He said, “The purpose of demanding the entire complex is that the place was not built by Aurangzeb, it was already a pre-existing Hindu temple structure, which was tried to be converted into a mosque…”

Another advocate Sudhir Tripathi, representing the Hindu side, said that the court has accepted our request to conduct a scientific survey of the area outside the barricaded Vazukhana.

Chief priest of Ram temple said – everything will become clear

Religious organizations have also reacted to the permission to conduct archaeological and scientific survey of Gyanvapi complex in the case of Maa Shringar Gauri-Gyanvapi Mosque located near Kashi Vishwanath Temple. Acharya Satyendra Das, the chief priest of Ayodhya’s Ram temple, said, “When the survey is done, all the facts of the Hindu side will come out in the survey, so that the court will not have any problem in giving its verdict because all the evidence that is being found is of the Hindu side.” are meeting. On May 16, the court accepted the petition of the Hindu side

It may be noted that on May 16, the district court of Varanasi had accepted for hearing a petition requesting the ASI to conduct a survey of the entire complex of the Gyanvapi mosque located next to the Kashi Vishwanath temple. Vishnu Shankar Jain had said, “We had put before the court a demand for archaeological and scientific investigation of the entire Gyanvapi complex except Vajukhane.” Now the court has accepted the demand and allowed the survey.

In August 2021, five women filed a petition in the local court demanding the right to regular worship at the Maa Shringar Gauri site located inside the mosque premises. In April 2022, the court of the Civil Judge (Senior Division) ordered a survey of the Gyanvapi mosque complex.

The survey was finally completed in May 2022 amid protests from the Muslim side. Meanwhile, the Hindu side installed the ‘Shivling’ in the pond meant for ablutions inside the mosque premises. claimed to have met, while the Muslim side called it a fountain.
