Uttarakhand Rains: Many states of the country are currently in the grip of heavy rains. Especially in the hilly states of North India, due to rain, trouble has broken out. There has been flood in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. In which many people have died so far. Apart from this, many houses have been destroyed, vehicles and bridges have been washed away in the gushing rivers.
During this period, the Jumma motor bridge located on the Joshimath-Malari highway connecting the international border with China in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand was also washed away. After which now the Border Roads Organization has built a temporary bridge in its place so that people can get rid of the problems in movement. Malari is a small village near the Indo-China border. where this bridge is located.
The bridge was washed away in the flood
The Jumma motor bridge was washed away in the flood on the night of July 10, due to which traffic on this strategically important road was disrupted for the last four days. According to a government statement, a temporary bridge has been constructed for vehicular movement through the Hayum Pipe at Jumma and traffic on it was restored on Saturday (July 15).
Vehicle movement resumes on Joshimath-Malari highway
Chamoli’s DM Himashu Khurana said on Sunday that on July 10, due to a spate in the Deogarh drain near Malari Highway, the bridge connecting dozens of villages including Joshimath was washed away. However, now vehicular movement has been temporarily resumed on the Joshimath-Malari highway.
