Tripura TMC President Resigns: Trinamool Congress state president in Tripura Pijush Kanti Biswas on Tuesday (25 July) resigned from his post and party membership. The party had put in full force in the recently held assembly elections, but fared poorly. 

Pijush Kanti Biswas has submitted his resignation to TMC Chief Mamata Banerjee and party General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee. He wrote in it that I tender my resignation from the post of Tripura State President of TMC. Along with this, I am also resigning from the primary membership of Trinamool Congress. I am grateful to you and Abhishek Banerjee. Who gave me this responsibility. 

Poor performance in Tripura elections

Elections for the 60-member Tripura assembly were held in the month of February this year. In which the party contested on 28 seats. Although TMC could not win even a single seat. TMC could get only 0.88 percent votes in this election. The BJP won 32 seats in this election.
