BJP Organizational Changes: Assembly elections 2023 are going to be held in five states of the country by the end of this year. Gearing up for the elections, the BJP on Friday (July 7) announced the appointment of election in-charges for 4 of these states.
BJP has given Prahlad Joshi the responsibility of Rajasthan, Om Mathur to Chhattisgarh, Bhupendra Yadav to Madhya Pradesh and Prakash Javadekar to Telangana.
Whereas, Ashwani Vaishnav has been appointed as Madhya Pradesh, Sunil Bansal in Telangana, Mansukh Mandaviya in Chhattisgarh and Nitin Patel and Kuldeep Bishnoi in Rajasthan as co-in-charge.
The state presidents of these states were changed recently
Earlier on July 4, BJP had changed its president in four states. Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy was appointed as the BJP State President of Telangana. Former Union minister D. Purandeshwari was given party command in Andhra Pradesh, former CM Babulal Marandi in Jharkhand and Sunil Jakhar in Punjab.
Why election in-charge is appointed?
Before the assembly elections of every state, BJP appoints central in-charge and co-in-charge. The in-charge and co-in-charge hold meetings with the party functionaries of the poll-bound states and play a role in sharpening the election strategy.
They also have an important role in the selection of candidates during elections. In-charge and co-in-charge also act as a bridge between the state leadership and the central leadership.
What did Telangana election in-charge Prakash Javadekar say?
Telangana election in-charge Prakash Javadekar after being appointed as election in-charge said, "The KCR government has failed the state and its people, the voters are very angry with his government. The mood of people in the state is in favor of BJP, we are contesting to win"
