Jammu-Kashmir: Due to bad weather in Jammu-Kashmir, the new route to Mata Vaishno Devi cave temple has been closed. Along with this, helicopter service to the temple in Reasi district has also been suspended today.

SSP Reasi Amit Gupta told that the journey of Vaishno Devi is going on smoothly from the old track. At the same time, the decision to suspend the helicopter service has been taken keeping in mind the safety of the devotees. 

It rains continuously

Officials said on Wednesday (July 19) that traffic on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway has been closed. Meanwhile, schools in Doda and Kishtwar districts have also been ordered closed as several parts of the Jammu region received heavy rains overnight. 

Advised not to travel till the weather improves 

There was heavy rain in many areas of Jammu. Due to the rain, landslides also occurred at many places in Ramban district. A traffic department official said, "The highway is still closed and people have been advised not to travel till the restoration work is completed."

Officials said that traffic has also been diverted on the Jammu-Pathankot highway in Kathua district, where two pillars of a bridge were damaged due to a flash flood in the Tarnah drain. The work of smoothening the traffic is going on.
