Atiq Ahmed Money Laundering: ED has tightened its noose on those who invest black money of mafia Atiq Ahmed. For the past few days, ED (Enforcement Directorate) officials have been continuously raiding the places close to Atiq. The agency launched a search operation from Prayagraj to New Delhi.
Raids were conducted at the places of two builders, three chartered accountants of Prayagraj. Raids were also conducted at the locations of two businessmen in New Delhi. Raids were conducted at the premises of real estate businessmen Amit Goyal and Atul Dwivedi in Prayagraj, while in New Delhi the premises of real estate businessmen Sharad Gupta and Santosh Gupta were raided.
What was recovered by ED in the raid
The Enforcement Directorate recovered cash, suspicious documents, laptops, mobiles, hard disks worth lakhs from Prayagraj to New Delhi. The agency is preparing to confiscate these properties soon. And the ED is preparing evidence against those who siphon off black money of the mafia.
ED had seized a property worth Rs 8 crore of Atiq Ahmed in Phulpur area of Prayagraj in November 2021. This property was bought in the name of Atiq’s wife Shaista for Rs 4.5 crore. Apart from this, ED had seized several bank accounts of Atiq and his family as well as companies. Thirteen bank accounts of Atiq Ahmed and people associated with his family were seized. More than 1.25 crore rupees were deposited in these bank accounts. ED’s Prayagraj unit is probing the money laundering case registered against Atiq.
Let me tell you, two months have passed since the murder of Bahubali MP Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf Ahmed. Till now the motive of the murder is not clear yet. Mafia brothers were murdered in police custody in Prayagraj on the night of 15 April. 3 shooters Lavlesh Tiwari, Arun Maurya and Sunny Singh were caught from the spot.
