Modi Cabinet Reshuffle News: Lok Sabha elections– All the main parties have started preparations for 2024. On one hand, many opposition parties are engaged in the process of forming a grand alliance, while on the other hand BJP is also engaged in election preparations. Amidst all this, the buzz of change in the Union Cabinet has also intensified. According to sources, the Modi cabinet may be expanded on July 12. For which preparations are going on for a big event at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Sources told that preparations for cabinet expansion have been completed and five ministers can be made from allies. The speculation of a reshuffle in the Union Cabinet was fueled recently after several rounds of meetings of the BJP’s top leadership. PM Modi had a meeting with party leaders at his residence on (July 6). In which Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP President JP Nadda were present. 

A round of meetings in BJP

PM Modi also met Amit Shah and JP Nadda on 28 June. Earlier, several rounds of meetings were held between Amit Shah, JP Nadda and party general secretary (organisation) BL Santosh. Apart from this, several Union ministers including Nirmala Sitharaman, Kiren Rijiju, Arjun Ram Meghwal held one-on-one meetings with BJP national president JP Nadda last week.

BJP also changed state presidents in Telangana, Punjab, Jharkhand and Andhra Pradesh on July 4. In these, the responsibility was entrusted to Union Culture and Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy in Telangana. After this appointment, the speculation about cabinet reshuffle had intensified. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Monday (July 10) called on the President Draupadi Murmu has met. 

JP Nadda meets leaders

JP Nadda also presided over a meeting of senior party leaders from southern and some other states in Hyderabad on Sunday. In which the party’s preparations for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and other issues were discussed. The regional consultative meeting, held at the BJP’s Telangana headquarters in Hyderabad, was attended by party general secretary BL Santosh and other senior leaders, including party MPs and MLAs and presidents of state units, among others. 

BJP calls NDA meeting

Amidst all this, speculations are also being made about the joining of some new parties in the NDA. BJP has called an NDA meeting in Delhi on 18 July. According to sources, Sukhbir Badal of Akali Dal, Chirag Paswan of LJP and Chandrababu Naidu of TDP can also attend this meeting. Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) President Chirag Paswan had also met BJP leader and Union Minister Nityanand Rai on Sunday. 

Chirag Paswan gave these hints

Chirag Paswan also indicated to join the BJP-led NDA during this period. When Chirag was asked about the possibility of joining the NDA, he said that it is against the decorum of the alliance for me to make any announcement before him. They (NDA) may hold another round of talks before making up their mind.
