Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla said about Atiq Ahmed that he was elected MP from Phulpur constituency in the 14th Lok Sabha. Apart from this, he was also a member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly. He was also a member of the Committee on Railways. He died at Prayagraj on 15 May 2023 at the age of 60.

After this, Speaker Om Birla threw light on the other two present MPs. He said that the current MP Ratanlal Kataria was elected from Ambala parliamentary constituency. He died at the age of 71 on 18 May 2023 in Chandigarh. He was also a member of several committees. Apart from this, he had been a member of the Legislative Assembly of Haryana.

On the other hand, Suresh Narayan Dhanorkar alias Balubhau was told that he had come to the House after being elected from the Chandrapur parliamentary seat in Maharashtra. He died on 30 May 2023 at the young age of just 48 years. The Speaker said that the House expresses its condolence on the demise of the sitting and former MPs.
