TMC On Abhishek Banarjee: Senior Trinamool Congress leader Abhishek Banerjee on Friday (July 14) made serious allegations against the BJP for spreading violence in the state. Abhishek Banerjee alleged that BJP is creating an atmosphere of fear in the state after losing the elections in the state.
Abhishek Banerjee claimed that BJP-affiliated goons are seeking legal protection from the judiciary so that enforcement agencies do not take action against them. TMC national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee said that after losing its mass base, the BJP is now resorting to violence to divert attention from its failures.
‘We are against any kind of violence’
TMC alleged that we are against any kind of violence. Since the declaration of the election results, the BJP has spread terror in the entire state. In Nandigram, where the BJP won a few seats, party goons dragged TMC workers out of their homes, beat them up and threatened to rape the women in their homes. Nandigram is the assembly constituency of Leader of the Opposition Shubhendu Adhikari.
Banerjee claimed, BJP-affiliated goons are seeking legal protection from the judiciary to prevent law enforcement agencies from taking action against them. Unfortunately these goons are getting legal protection. Claiming that most of those who lost their lives were linked to the TMC, Banerjee said the BJP and its agencies should investigate who killed them.
What about West Bengal elections? Results?
TMC emerged victorious in the Bengal Panchayat Election 2023 results. TMC won 18,590 Gram Panchayat (GP) seats in West Bengal while BJP won 4,479 seats. CPI and Congress won 1,426 and 1,071 seats, while independent candidates won 1,062 seats. The recounting was done at around 697 booths in the aftermath of violence during the July 8 panchayat polls in West Bengal that left at least 20 people dead.
