Manipur Violence Update: Continuous violence continues in the northeastern state of Manipur. Now on Wednesday (June 21) in Kwakta of Bishnupur district of Manipur, three civilians were injured due to a bomb blast in an SUV parked near a culvert. Sources gave this information to news agency PTI. They said that a bomb was kept inside the vehicle which probably exploded when the driver slipped while getting down from the car.

During this, three persons standing near the vehicle were injured due to the explosion. All the injured have been admitted to Bishnupur District Hospital. Doctors at the hospital said that the condition of one of the injured is very serious. More than 100 people have been killed so far in the caste violence that started on May 3 in Manipur and thousands of people have been forced to leave their homes and live in relief camps.  

Violence continues in Manipur

This violence started between Meitei and Kuki communities in Manipur. On May 3, a tribal solidarity march was taken out in the hill districts to protest against the demand for Scheduled Tribe (ST) status by the Meitei community. Since then there have been continuous violent clashes in Manipur. On the previous day also there was firing in Thangjing area of ​​Manipur East. The houses of some state ministers have also been torched during the violence.

All-party meeting called

Efforts are also being made by the center to stop the violence. A Home Ministry spokesperson said on Wednesday that Union Home Minister Amit Shah has called an all-party meeting in New Delhi on June 24 to discuss the situation in Manipur.
