Rally organized on NIPUN Tripura Mission; Elementary Edu Team to take part in G20 Summit in Pune – aabtak24

Agartala June 12: With an aim to rightfully balance the Indian ethos with appropriate learning process, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched National Education Policy-2020. In this context, National Initiative for Proficiency in Reading with Understanding and Numeracy (NIPUN) Bharat Mission has been set up by the Ministry of Education in a bid to ensure universal acquisition of foundational literacy and numeracy by the end of Grade 3, by 2026-27.

To spread awareness among the common masses about the NIPUN Tripura Mission, the state government has been conducting several programs across the state.

As a part of this, Monday, a rally was organized on NIPUN Tripura under Janbhagidari Events under the initiative of West District Education Office.

Students from a total of seven schools of the capital city took part in the day’s rally led by Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor Dipak Majumder along with West District Education Department officials.

Speaking in this context, Mayor Dipak Majumder said, “With the implantation of NIPUN Bharat in our state focus will be laid upon elementary education that will help the students become better readers and writers. Moreover, importance will also be laid on extra curricular activities that will boost the interest of the children towards studies”.

Hailing Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Mayor further said, “In compliance with the central government the state government has also taken up the noble initiative through the mission that aims to make all children proficient in linguistics and mathematics by the end of class III by the academic year 2026-2027”.

“The NIPUN Mission shall focus on creation of meritorious girls in every school, lay emphasis on sports, education through project works, story telling etc.”, he added.

Majumder further said that a team from Elementary Education Department, Govt of Tripura shall take part in the G20 Summit to be held in Pune, Maharashtra from June 17-22 next.
