PM Modi France Visit Update: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on his two-day visit to France. After a bilateral meeting with President Emmanuel Macron, PM Modi said that France is known for humanity all over the world. He is proud to be in France.
PM Modi said, "Yesterday I got the highest honor of France, this is the honor of the entire 140 crore Indians. The National Day of France is a symbol of ‘liberty, equality and fraternity’ for the world. India and France have always been allies in the fight against terrorism."
Mention of Make in India
PM Modi said, “Defence cooperation has been a fundamental pillar of our relations. It is a symbol of deep mutual trust between the two countries. France is an important partner in Make in India and self-reliant India. Be it submarines or naval ships, we want to work together not only for ourselves but also for the cooperation of third friendly countries.”
New Consulate to open in Marseille
Modi said that we will open a new Indian consulate in the city of Marseille. We welcome the decision to grant long term visas to people of Indian origin studying in France. The Prime Minister also invited French universities to set up their campuses in India.
‘Countries need to make a united effort’
The Prime Minister said, "We believe that all disputes should be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy. India stands ready to contribute to the restoration of lasting peace. The effects of the Kovid epidemic and the Ukraine conflict have been felt all over the world. They have had a particularly negative impact on the countries of the Global South. It’s a topic of concern. It is necessary for all countries to make united efforts to solve these problems.
What did President Emmanuel Macron say
Emmanuel Macron said, "For young Indians who want to pursue higher education in France, we want to have a favorable visa policy. We want to save the world from the denouement of the international community and that is why we have worked together on the Paris Agenda and the New Financial Global Compact. We all want an international order to be established which leads to peace and development."
