Defamation Case Against Surendra Choudhary: In Jammu and Kashmir, a big leader recently left the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and joined the National Conference. After which the party has now filed a defamation claim against the former BJP leader. Experts believe that this claim of defamation is a damage control step of BJP. Due to which the leaders leaving the party can be curbed.

The matter is of 11 July. During the government of BJP and PDP in the state, Surendra Chaudhary, who was MLC from PDP quota, had earlier left PDP and joined Bharatiya Janata Party. After which he left the BJP on July 11 and joined the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference party.

Leaving BJP and joining National Conference 
Surendra Chaudhary comes from Nowshera area of ​​Rajouri district of Jammu.  BJP’s state president Ravindra Raina is a former MLA in the area. Along with joining National Conference of Surendra Chaudhary, many party office bearers and workers of BJP from Nowshera also joined National Conference.

Notice sent for written apology within 1 week 
Ravinder Raina has been asked to apologize in writing within 1 week while sending a legal notice to Surendra Chowdhary. Also said that if he did not do so,  Raina would sue him for defamation of 5 crores.

On the other hand, PDP has targeted BJP on the pretext of this notice. Sources reveal that after Surendra Chaudhary left the BJP, the party is angry with him. Along with this, many more leaders may also leave BJP, for which now BJP is engaged in damage control and this claim of defamation is also a link in the same series.
