Agartala Jun 28: The National Students Union of India (NSUI), Tripura state unit on Wednesday demanded immediate apology from the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), state committee on alleged remarks and abusive words against NSUI state president Samrat Roy during Tripura University protest.
Addressing the press over the issue from state PCC headquarters in the capital city, NSUI state president Samrat Roy said, “Tuesday, the ABVP organized a protest demonstration in front of the Tripura University premises, demanding re-examination for the college students who failed in different subjects this year. But instead of sticking on to the matter of protest, the ABVP leaders started hurling abusive words naming me and that too without any provocation”.
“There was no necessity of mentioning my name even during their protests”, he added.
Protesting against this, the NSUI state committee demanded an apology from the ABVP leaders.
Meanwhile, NSUI state president Samrat Roy appealed to his supporters and followers to keep calm and refrain from any sort of protest moves.
