NEP- 2020: Suited to 21st Century needs, shall bring out the unique capabilities of each student, says Tripura CM – aabtak24

Agartala June 09: Built on the pillars of access, equity, quality, affordability and accountability, National Education Policy-2020 shall transform the entire nation into a vibrant knowledgeable society by making both preliminary and higher education more holistic and flexible, said Tripura chief minister Dr Manik Saha.

The chief minister made the above statement at the inaugural ceremony of Implementation of National Education Policy -2020 organized by the Higher Education Department, Govt of Tripura, held at the Agartala Town Hall here on Friday.

Hailing prime minister Narendra Modi Dr Manik Saha said, “The NEP-2020 will play a conducive role in developing talent and skill of the students of Tripura”.

Referring to the prime ministers’ words, Dr Saha said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi often said that those who carry knowledge, the world belongs to them. And this is why the central government formulated the National Education Policy-2020 to inherit the best in students across the nation”.

“It was a time when Nalanda like institutions used to draw students from different zones for studying in India, but now Indian students are going abroad for studies. I believe that the National Education Policy shall unify and uplift the education system of India and also strengthen it further”, he said.

Karnataka was the first state to implement NEP-2020 and later states like Madhya Pradesh, Assam, Telangana and others also implemented it.

Dr Saha said, “Besides ensuring quality education, emphasis is being laid on job opportunities in the New Education Policy.

While urging the teachers and concerned authorities of the department to act towards successful implementation of the policy, Dr Saha further said, “Tripura has a lot of talents. Students of Tripura are not less than any other state. And this education policy will help to ensure that they excel in their respective fiels”.

Apart from the chief minister, Secretary State Education Department Saradindu Choudhury, Vice-Chancellor Tripura University Prof Gangaprasad Prasain, Director of Education N C Sharma among others remained present at the program.
