Agartala, June 16: Bharatiya Janata Party’s national president J.P. Nadda arrived in the state on Friday evening to attend an organizational programme.
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharjee, former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb and other leaders welcomed the party chief at Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport, Agartala.
To mark 9 years of Seva, Sushasan and Garib Kalyan of Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government, the BJP chief will address a public rally at Santirbazar on Saturday.
According to party sources, he will also hold meetings with the party’s top brass and discuss the present political and organizational scenario in view of the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. Besides, he is also expected to hold discussions on the possible candidate for by-poll in Dhanpur assembly constituency.
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha and the party units held several rounds of meetings to review the preparations for the party chief’s visit to the state.
On Friday, Dr. Saha held a meeting with BJP’s North East coordinator Dr. Sambit Patra in Agartala and held discussions on the tour programme of the party chief.
Meanwhile, the state BJP unit has put all preparations in place to offer a warm welcome to the party chief in the land of Maa Tripurasundari. The roads in several places have been decorated with party flags, festoons and banners welcoming Nadda.
