Mehbooba Mufti Letter: Former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and PDP President Mehbooba Mufti has written a letter to Road and Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, in which Mehbooba has asked Gadkari to build three tunnels in the valley. Mentioned the conversation that took place. Mehbooba has written to Gadkari in this letter that when she was the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, there was a discussion with her about building different tunnels in the valley. On which work has not started yet.

Gadkari reminded of 2017 meeting
PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti wrote on Twitter, Nitin Gadkari was asked to start the construction of Mughal Road Tunnel, which he assured me in 2017 It was given while being the Chief Minister. The Mughal Road may be constructed as an all-weather road link connecting the valley to the Pir Panchal in Jammu.

Economic loss due to low connectivity
Mehbooba Mufti wrote in her letter to Gadkari that it is unfortunate that Kashmir is cut off from the whole country. It is known to all that the National Highway connecting Kashmir with the rest of the country remains mostly closed due to bad weather and landslides. During your tenure, the road network has increased rapidly and connectivity has become easier, but till date there has been no change in the roads and connectivity of Jammu and Kashmir. As a result of which people are suffering financially. Farmers face problems in transport and suffer heavy losses.

Mehbooba Mufti has told Gadkari that opening of the road will not only benefit the people, but will also strengthen it strategically. Apart from the National Highway, connectivity will increase with the tunnel built on Mughal Road. Mehbooba told Gadkari that there is a need to pay attention to this matter soon and start work on the road construction project.
