Jiten wants access of B’desh Feni river water through Dashamighat – aabtak24

Sabroom, July 04: The opposition CPI(M) MLA and senior party leader Jitendra Choudhury on Tuesday demanded the government to allow locals of Sabroom Dashamighat area access the water of Bangladesh’s Feni river by constructing a gate connecting Bangladesh.

During his visit to Sabroom, bordering to the Bangladesh, Jitendra Choudhury talked to the officials of BSF and District Magistrate and urged to find the feasibility of constructing a gate at Dashamighat area while the fencing work is underway. He opined that this would facilitate the locals access the river water of Feni of Bangladesh as when required with due permission of the BSF.

He informed that the matter will be taken up in the next assembly session for the welfare of the locals of Sabroom Dashamighat area.

According to the official input 90 per cent of the work for construction of barbed wire fencing for the unfenced areas in Sabroom town is over, while the rest of the work is underway.
