India On China’s BRI: India on Tuesday (July 4) once again refused to support China’s ambitious Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) at the SCO summit. India is the only country in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) not to support this project. A statement issued at the end of the conference said that Russia, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan reiterated their support for the BRI.

Referring to Afghanistan, Prime Minister Modi said that India’s concerns and expectations regarding Afghanistan are similar to most of the SCO countries. He said that India and the people of Afghanistan share age-old friendly relations and in the last two decades, we have contributed immensely to the economic and social development of Afghanistan.  ;
PM said that it is necessary that the land of Afghanistan is not used to spread instability in neighboring countries, or to encourage extremist ideologies. Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) includes India, Russia, China, Pakistan, Kazakhstan , Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan are included. It is considered an important economic and security group.
