PM Narendra Modi US Visit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has left for a three-day visit to America, where he will meet with President Joe Biden. Before this important tour, PM Modi gave an interview to the American newspaper Wall Street Journal, in which he talked openly about the relationship between India and America. In this interview, PM Modi said that he is the first Prime Minister of India, who was born in independent India. Apart from this, Prime Minister Modi also talked about India’s contribution to global politics and China’s aggression.
PM told how to get strength
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in an interview to the Wall Street Journal that "I am the first prime minister born in independent India, that’s why my way of thinking, my conduct, what I say and do are inspired and influenced by the characteristics and tradition of my country." PM Modi further said that I get strength from this. I present myself and my country to the world exactly as it is.
‘India deserves a bigger role’
Prime Minister Modi also talked about the relationship between America and India during this period. He said that there is an unbreakable trust between the leaders of the two countries. India deserves a bigger role. Defense cooperation between the two countries is continuously increasing, which is an important pillar. This cooperation also extends to trade, technology and energy. Referring to China, PM Modi said that we believe in respecting territorial integrity and sovereignty. India is fully prepared to protect its sovereignty.
Before leaving for the US, Prime Minister Modi said about his visit, ‘‘I will start my visit from New York, where I will celebrate the International Day of Yoga on June 21 at the UN Headquarters with the UN leadership and members of the international community. Will celebrate I am excited about this special event in support of India’s December 2014 proposal to recognize the International Day of Yoga.’’
