Rouse Avenue Court: Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court has decided to take cognizance of the charge sheet filed against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, BJP MP and outgoing chief of Wrestling Federation of India, in the case of alleged sexual harassment of women wrestlers. The order will be pronounced on July 1. Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Harjeet Singh Jaspal said it was a ‘lengthy chargesheet’ and adjourned the hearing in the case.

He said, "A fresh charge sheet has been filed. Let it be looked into. Since it is a long charge sheet, let us consider it for a few days." On the other hand, Delhi Police has filed a charge sheet on June 15 on the basis of the complaint of 6 adult women wrestlers. Police has filed a charge sheet against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh under sections 354, 354A, 354D of the IPC in a charge sheet of about 1000 pages.

The petition has no justification now – Court
Former President of Wrestling Federation Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh has made serious allegations of sexual exploitation of women wrestlers. The Rouse Avenue Court told the counsel for the women wrestlers that there is no merit in the petition seeking monitoring of the investigation. The court said that if you feel that there is a need to monitor the investigation, then you can file a new petition.

Withdrawal of the petition monitoring the investigation
At the same time, the counsel for the wrestlers withdrew the petition monitoring the investigation. The counsel for the wrestlers said, "The investigation is still going on in the case, we feel that a supplementary charge sheet will be filed in the case, in such a situation the monitoring of the investigation should be continued in the court."

Let us tell you that on June 15, the Delhi Police filed a 1500-page charge sheet against former WFI chairman Brij Bhushan. This charge sheet was filed on the complaint of 6 adult women wrestlers.
