Chandrayaan-3 Mission: The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) on Thursday (July 20) successfully completed the fourth orbit raising operation of the Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft. ISRO tweeted that India has celebrated International Moon Day 2023 by taking Chandrayaan-3 one step closer to the Moon.

ISRO said, “The fourth process of orbit upgrade of Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft has been successfully completed.” Now the next process is planned to be carried out on July 25, 2023, between 2 to 3 pm.” Chandrayaan-3 mission to the moon was launched on July 14.

When was the third process successful?
ISRO had also told on Tuesday (July 18) that Chandrayaan-3 has successfully completed the third process of orbit raising spacecraft. During this, ISRO had said that the next process is planned to be done between 2 to 3 pm on July 20, which proved to be true today. 

When will the soft landing take place?
ISRO Chairman S Somnath said in a press conference on Friday (July 14) that Chandrayaan-3’s soft landing on the lunar surface will be done on 23 July if all goes well. August i.e. Wednesday evening will be at 5:47.

According to the news agency PTI, the Chandrayaan-2 mission could not make a soft landing in the last moments due to lander Vikram path deviation. If Chandrayaan-3’s soft landing attempt on the lunar surface is successful, India will join the club of countries like America, former Soviet Union and China who have achieved such a feat.
