Army Bunker Fire In Siachen: An incident of fire broke out in Siachen Glacier on Wednesday (July 19). An officer lost his life while three jawans were injured in the incident. The injured were evacuated safely to the hospital. 

According to the news agency ANI, the Indian Army official told that the incident took place around 3:30 in the morning. They said, "Due to the short circuit, we lost a medical officer, while the condition of three other evacuated people is stable and undergoing treatment."

Medical officer’s death 

The deceased has been identified as Regimental Medical Officer Captain Anshuman Singh. The three injured jawans were airlifted to Chandigarh for treatment. 

How did the incident 

Army officials told that the accident happened in the Saltoro region. The fire broke out due to a short circuit in the ammunition bunker, which engulfed several tents nearby. The injured jawans have not been identified yet.
