PM Modi US Visit Protest: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s US tour is starting from 21 June. Before his visit, preparations have started in full swing to welcome him in America. On the other hand, American rights groups are now planning protests against PM Modi’s US visit, citing concerns over India’s deteriorating human rights record. However, it has not been officially confirmed yet.
According to the news agency Reuters report, organizations such as the Indian American Muslim Council, Peace Action, Veterans for Peace, and the Bethesda African Cemetery Coalition are claiming to gather near the White House on 22 June. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Joe Biden are to meet. PM Modi’s tour will start from New York City where he will participate in the World Yoga Day at the UN Headquarters. After that he will go to Washington, the capital of America.

In a letter to President Biden, Elaine Pearson, director of the Asia division of Human Rights Watch, urged the White House to raise concerns about human rights in India publicly and privately during Modi’s visit. However, analysts believe that these actions are unlikely to have a significant impact on the discussions between Biden and Modi.
