Sexual Harassment With Minor: A Ghaziabad court has sentenced life imprisonment to the accused of sexually abusing his minor daughter and son. Both the children told their aunt and grandfather about the sexual assault following which an FIR was lodged at the Modinagar police station. The court pronounced the sentence three years after writing the case.
The prosecution said that on August 16, 2020, on the complaint of the children’s grandfather, the Modi Nagar police had registered a case against the father. The police have booked the accused under sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 328 (causing grievous hurt), 354 (molestation), 376 AB (rape) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) besides the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO) against the accused. Case was registered under 377 (misdeed) and 506 (intimidation).
Forced to drink mosquito repellent liquid
The brutality of the father did not stop here, he used to give the children to eat the spice of phosphorus placed on the ends of the matchsticks and used to drink the liquid applied at home to drive away the mosquitoes.
Imprisonment for life and 71 thousand fine
On the basis of witnesses and evidence found during the hearing, the court found the accused guilty of sexual exploitation and harassment of minor children. On Friday (July 16), the court sentenced the accused to life imprisonment and also imposed a fine of Rs 71,000.
Hindustan Times quoted Special Public Prosecutor Harish Kumar as saying that 10 witnesses were produced and the statement of the victim boy and girl proved to be the most important in the case. He told that the convict was divorced from his wife and he had got the custody of both the children.
