Agartala, Jun 27: A large number of students from various state government colleges under the banner of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) on Tuesday staged protest demonstration in front of the Tripura University premises demanding re-examination for mass number of students who got year back in different subjects.
Talking to the media persons, one of the agitating ABVP leaders said, “Implementation of National Education Policy -2020 adapted by the state government has already started to be implemented in all the state government colleges. Accordingly, from the next academic year, the teaching and learning process in government colleges will follow the policies of NEP-2020. That would create problems for those who have got supply in various subjects this year”.
Therefore, the ABVP placed the demand of organizing a re-examination for those large number of students so that they can clear the supply paper by appearing in the examination for another time.
Later, a memorandum was also submitted before the Vice Chancellor of Tripura University with the demand for re-examination.
The agitators informed that the Vice Chancellor has assured to discuss the issue with professors of all government degree colleges across the state and a meeting has been called in this respect on June 28, next.
The students are hopeful that a positive response will be received from the meeting.
