Agartala Jul 03: Continuing to demand publication of results for STGT examination 2022 and recruitment, the aspiring teachers once again approached the doors of Tripura chief minister Dr Manik Saha on Monday.

However, the besiegers were not allowed to meet the chief minister without a proper appointment and were restricted to the road by a large contingent of police and other security forces.

Speaking in this context, one of the job aspirants said, “After a lot of struggle, we sat for the STGT examination in the month of September 2022. But even after repeated requests, deputations and protests, the state government and the education department has not published our results yet”.

“Prior to the time of state assembly elections 2023, we reached out to the then education minister Ratan Lal Nath, Finance minister Jishnu Dev Varma and other ministers including the chief minister. We were assured that our results will be published and the state government will recruit us accordingly. But nothing has been done so far”, he said.

The agitators further added, “The statements of the ministers and concerned authorities with respect to publication of STGT 2022 results have changed every now and then and we are forced to organize protests and come down on roads”.

Citing the lack of adequate number of Graduate teachers in state government schools, the job aspirants said, “There is a large number of vacant posts, besides, several state government schools are reeling under acute crisis of teachers for Classes 9 & 10. Despite the fact, the state government is not taking any positive role in recruitment of teachers”.

The unemployed youths said, “In this situation, we tried repeatedly to approach the chief minister of the state, we also tried to reach him through ‘Mukhyamantri Samipeshu’ opportunity, but every time we had to return empty hand”.

“The chief minister is neither giving us an appointment to meet and hear us out nor is he making any statement over the long-time pending issue of publication of results and recruitment into vacant posts”, alleged the aspiring youths.

Staging a protest demonstration in front of the chief minister’s residence, the youths demanded immediate publication of STGT 2022 examination results and initiation of recruitment process at the earliest.
