Bihar Lathicharge: On Thursday (July 20), a new revelation came to light on the death of party leader Vijay Singh in the lathicharge that took place during the demonstration of BJP leaders in Bihar’s Patna. According to the post mortem report, Vijay Singh did not die of lathi charge but of heart attack. 

DM of Patna issued a statement saying that for accurate information about the causes of death, histopathological  Investigation has also been done. In fact, the BJP had alleged in the case that Vijay Singh had died due to lathicharge during the assembly march on July 13.  

What did the government say?
The DM of Patna told in a press release that BJP’s assembly march program was organized on Thursday (July 13). Participating in this, PMCH has made available the post mortem report regarding the death of Vijay Singh. 

It was further said in the release that it is clear from the CCTV footage, inquest report, statement of his accomplice and postmortem report that Vijay Singh did not die in lathicharge during the protest. It was clear from the CCTV that the incident of unconsciousness with Vijay Singh took place on  July 13 between 13:22 to 13:27 in Chhajjubagh area itself. 

What did the BJP say?
BJP President JP Nadda on Wednesday (July 19) said that the excessive police brutality allegedly committed by the police during a protest by party leaders in Patna recently Use of force in Bihar due to ‘Jungle Raj, anarchy and brutality of the state government towards opposition parties’ stands for. 

Nadda had constituted a four-member ‘high-level inquiry committee’of MPs on last Friday to investigate the incident. was constituted. Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das was made its convener while Vishnu Dayal Ram, Manoj Tiwari and Sunita Duggal were made its members. 

The BJP committee went to the Dakbungalow square in Patna and saw the place where the ‘lathicharge’ The incident had happened. The members had also met the injured leaders and workers admitted in various hospitals of the capital. The BJP had claimed regarding the lathi charge that one of its district general secretary Vijay Singh was killed in it.
