Maharashtra Politics: In Maharashtra, along with Ajit Pawar, 8 of his MLAs were sworn in as ministers, after which the portfolios have not yet been divided. There has been a lot of confusion regarding this for the last several days. Now it has been told by quoting sources that Ajit Pawar camp can be given the finance ministry. The matter has almost been decided on handing over the finance department to Deputy CM Ajit Pawar. After which the formal announcement is now awaited. For the last about a week continuous meetings were going on regarding this department.
Meeting Amit Shah in Delhi
Deputy CM Ajit Pawar met Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi amid ongoing debate over division of departments in Maharashtra. During this, Praful Patel was also present with him. It was told that further legal battle was discussed in this meeting with Home Minister Amit Shah. After which Harish Salve can fight the case of Ajit Pawar camp like Shiv Sena Shinde faction.
Different claims of both sides
On the other hand, senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi will advocate for NCP’s Sharad Pawar camp in the court and the Election Commission. Both sides have their own claims regarding the legal battle. While the Ajit Pawar faction is saying that it has more than two-thirds of the MLAs from the party, therefore it has the right over the party and the election symbol, while the Sharad Pawar faction claims that it has the right over the party. At present, it is for the Election Commission and the court to decide who is the real boss of the NCP.
Let us tell you that Congress is the only party left in Maharashtra, whose MLAs are not divided. Apart from that, Shiv Sena and NCP are on the verge of a complete break. At present Congress is the largest opposition party in the state with 44 MLAs.
