Tihar Inmate Suicide: Another prisoner has died in Delhi’s Tihar Jail. The deceased prisoner has been identified as Imran (29 years) alias Raja. Imran, 29, was lodged in jail number 4. The incident took place on Friday (May 26) at around 11:53 am when Imran was found hanging in the common bathroom of Ward No. 6.
Imran alias Raja was locked in Tihar Jail No. 4 on February 24 this year. A case has been registered against him under Section 398/506 of IPC and Arms Act in Model Town police station. According to the Tihar Jail Administration, it is prima facie a case of suicide. At the same time, Delhi Police and other concerned agencies have been informed about the matter.
On May 22, the prisoner committed suicide
Earlier on May 22, a prisoner had committed suicide in Tihar Jail. Its age was only 26 years. The jail administration had told that the prisoner was convicted by the court in a robbery case. A few hours later, the prisoner was found hanging in the bathroom of the jail.
‘was hanged with the help of cloth’
Jail officials had told on Tuesday (May 23) that the prisoner was identified as Javed. Director General of Tihar Jail Sanjay Baniwal said at that time that according to the information received from the security officials, Javed hanged himself with the help of cloth in the common bathroom of the prisoners. After knowing about the incident, he was taken to the hospital where the doctors declared Javed brought dead.
