Maharashtra Politics: After the appointment of Supriya Sule and Praful Patel as working presidents of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), there is talk in the political circles that everything is not going well in the party. Its hallmark was also seen in the poster of National Executive meeting of NCP held in Delhi on Wednesday (June 23). 

NCP working president  Praful Patel shared the posters of the meeting. NCP Chief Sharad Pawar, Patel and Supriya Sule are visible in it, but Ajit Pawar is missing from the poster.  Apart from this, a meeting of women and youth wing of NCP was also held. 

Recently NCP leader Ajit Pawar had said that he should be freed from the Leader of Opposition (LOP) in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly and given a role in the party’s organization. On this, NCP President Sharad Pawar had said that no one person can take a decision in this regard and the prominent leaders of the party will take a decision in this regard. 

Why does Ajit Pawar want to step down?
Senior NCP leader Ajit Pawar had said that he wants to step down from the post of Leader of Opposition in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly. He said that I am told that I am not much of an attacker on the government. I never wanted the post of LOP but on the insistence of the party I became LOP.

What did Sharad Pawar say?
According to news agency PTI, Sharad Pawar said in Pune on Monday (June 26), “The key leaders of the party, including him (Ajit) Will sit together and take a decision in this regard. Today everyone in the party has the feeling of working in the organization and he (Ajit) has displayed the same feeling.”
