Manipur Violence: Home Minister Amit Shah addressed a press conference on Thursday (June 1) on Manipur violence. He said, I have visited the violence-hit areas for three days. I have had a meeting with every community including the cabinet ministers of the state. The Government of India will complete the inquiry into the violence by a retired judge of the level of Chief Justice of the High Court. A commission will be constituted for this. Along with this, the Government of India will also constitute a peace committee. Many agencies are working in Manipur.
Amit Shah said, the families of the victims will get compensation. The families of those who have died will be given a compensation of 5-5 lakhs from the Central and State Government. At the same time, a special team of CBI will investigate 6 cases. During this, the Home Minister appealed to all the people to maintain peace. He said, do not pay any attention to the rumours. Now the situation is fine in the state.
When will the railway service be restored in Manipur?
Informing about the situation getting better in the state, the Home Minister said, 15 petrol Pumps have been selected, which will remain open day and night. Supply will also be started in Manipur by rail. In all these ways, the things which are lacking in the state will be fulfilled. Railway service will be restored within 2-3 days.
The Home Minister said, some education officers of the Government of India have reached Manipur, so that education can be arranged easily for the children. Amit Shah claimed that there would be no hindrance in the education of the children. The terms of the agreements should be strictly followed, those who have weapons should surrender to the police.
Why violence took place in Manipur?
Amit Shah Giving information, he said, due to a decision of the Manipur High Court on April 29, violence started between two groups in the state, although now everything is under control.
