Agartala Jul 12: Causing a strong emotional reaction because of unexpectedness among the masses, in a startling incident, skeletal remains were recovered from holy Kalyan Sagar Dighi in Tripureshwari temple, Udaipur on Wednesday morning.
The locals and pilgrims who reached near the tranquil waters of the sacred Dighi spotted the skeletal head floating that immediately led to a flurry of activity and triggered resentment in the entire area.
Report was immediately sent to the local Radha Kishorepur Police Station when a team pf police officials hurried to the spot.
Meanwhile, chief priest of Udaipur Tripureshwari temple Chandan Chakraborty, Matabari Panchayat chief Mantu Das and other authorities of the temple trust also rushed to the spot.
Talking to the reporters, chief priest of the temple Chandan Chakraborty said, “The incident is completely shocking and unexpected. Moreover, without any confirmation nothing can be said in this regard”.
The head priest however said that proper rituals of ‘Suddhikaran’ (Purification) of the holy waters of the temple will be done if the skeletal remains are found to be of human.
Police recovered the skeleton and took it to the hospital for further examination.
Police officials at first assumed it to be foul play but later confirmed that the recovered head is a human skeleton.
Although the investigation is underway to unravel the mystery behind the recovery of human skeleton in the sacred waters of Tripureshwari temple’s Kalyan Sagar Dighi, the news has spread shockwaves across the state.
