Agartala Jun 30: As a part of the nationwide movement, Socialist Unity Centre of India (Communist), Tripura state committee on Friday staged protest demonstration in the capital city’s Battala area against the central government’s incapability in handling the fratricidal clashes in Manipur.
The Left wing targeted the central government under Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) claiming that the later is not at all serious in solving the much important issue that has claimed nearly 120 lives so far.
Addressing the gathering, SUCI senior leader said, “BJP governments at the centre and Manipur have equally failed to end the nearly two month long tension in the northeastern state”.
“The government is yet in slumber and must make up at the earliest to end the violence in Manipur and ensure Constitutional rights to all sections”, he added.
Expressing solidarity with the people of Manipur while mentioning situations where several people were killed, thousands had to leave their homes and many are wounded, the Left leaders said, “Instead of focusing on vested interests in view of the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah and also the government of Manipur must make ways to resolve the long-drawn incidents of violence and arson and save people from further loss of life”.
