Agartala June 06: Agartala Municipal Corporation’s (AMC) own sources must be used to fulfill minor issues and demands in respective wards such as drainage issues, roads, street lights etc. said, AMC Mayor Dipak Majumder.

Majumder made the above statement as he addressed a one-day orientation program organized under the banner of Directorate of Urban Development on centrally sponsored schemes being implemented at the Pragna Bhavan in the capital city, Agartala here on Tuesday.

The Mayor said, “With the aim of providing houses to the poor and needy people, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi had introduced PMAY-Scheme. Considering the same motto, every poor family who have applied for houses and do not have own land must be considered for loan under PMAY-Scheme”.

“The last date for completion of the pending work under PMAY-Scheme has been scheduled on June 2023”, he said.

The Mayor further said that there is a shortage of fund of at least Rs 10 crores for completion of the same.

Talking about several other demands in different wards under AMC, Majumder said, “Funds are coming from Centre and there is no doubt in that, but to solve minor issues like, roads, drainage, lighting etc. AMCs own sources must be used”.
