International Yoga Day: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the people of India on the occasion of Yoga Day from America. PM Modi said that I am connecting with all of you through video message, but I am not running away from the program of doing yoga. According to Indian time this evening, around 5:30 pm, I will be involved in a huge yoga program at the United Nations Headquarters. The coming together of more than 180 countries on India’s call is historic and unprecedented.
Record countries support Yoga
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on the occasion of Yoga Day, you will remember that when the proposal of International Yoga Day came in the UN General Assembly in 2014, a record number of countries supported it. Since then, Yoga has become a global movement through International Yoga Day. PM Modi said that this year the programs of Yoga Day have been made more special by the Ocean Ring of Yoga. Its idea is based on the interrelationship between the idea of yoga and the expanse of the sea.
People have felt the energy of Yoga – PM Modi
Today people all over the world are doing Yoga together on the theory of Yoga and Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam. It is said in our scriptures that through yoga we get health, ayush and strength. How many of us have felt the energy of yoga. We all know how important good health is for us at the individual level. Yoga creates a powerful society.
Journey from Karma to Yoga
On the occasion of Yoga Day, PM Modi said, we have to end our contradictions through yoga. We also have to eliminate our deadlocks and resistances through yoga. We have to present an India-Best India in front of the world. It has been said about yoga that skill in action is yoga. This mantra is very important for all of us in the time of freedom. We decide the journey from Karma to Karma Yoga. I am sure that with yoga we will improve our health and imbibe these resolutions as well.
