Congress On Delhi Ordinance: The Aam Aadmi Party, which is gathering support against the central government’s ordinance related to officials in Delhi, may get the support of the Congress. Sources say that Congress can stand with AAP and other parties when the issue of this ordinance comes up in Parliament. However, the Congress is unlikely to forge an alliance with AAP or support it on other issues as the Congress feels that the AAP leader has been attacking the party on several occasions.

The Central Government had last month issued an ordinance with the aim of setting up the National Capital Public Service Authority for the transfer of Group-A officers of Danix cadre and for disciplinary action against them. The AAP government of Delhi is opposing it and has told it against the decision of the Supreme Court. In fact, before the coming of this ordinance, the Supreme Court had handed over the control of police, law and order and all other services except land to the Delhi government.

Arvind Kejriwal is seeking the support of opposition parties

AAP’s national convenor and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has met several leaders of opposition parties to garner support against this ordinance. You want that the bill related to this should not be passed in the Parliament. For this, she is urging all the opposition parties to oppose it in the Parliament. Many leaders including Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, NCP Chief Sharad Pawar, Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin have spoken of supporting AAP.

The issue may also come up in the June 23 meeting

On coming June 23, a big meeting of opposition parties is also going to be held in Patna, Bihar on the call of CM Nitish Kumar, in which many veterans are going to participate. Arvind Kejriwal will also be a part of this meeting. CM Kejriwal has said about this meeting that he has requested the opposition parties to discuss the ordinance of the Center in this meeting. He said that what is happening in Delhi today, may happen in other states tomorrow.
