Manipur Horror: There is anger in the whole country after the incident of brutality with two women in Manipur came to the fore. The video of the incident which shamed humanity has shocked people. In the 26-second video, the crowd is seen showing two women being paraded naked. Now shocking information has come to the fore that the place where the incident of brutality with women took place is just one kilometer away from the country’s ‘best police station’.

India Today in one of its reports has quoted the investigation of the viral video as claiming that the place where the gruesome incident of sexual violence against women took place is just one kilometer away from the Nangpok Sekmai police station. The video was examined frame by frame in the investigation and the help of satellite imagery was also taken in this.

What was the matter?

The incident of cruelty to women took place on May 4, a day after the violence broke out in Manipur, but became a topic of discussion in the media across the country on July 19, when the video related to it surfaced. Whoever saw the video of cruelty to women was shocked. The surprising thing was that zero FIR was registered in this case on 18 May itself and it was transferred to the appropriate police station on 21 June, but no accused was arrested till two months after the incident.

After the video went viral, when the echo of this incident was heard in the whole country, on July 20, the police arrested four accused. Another accused was arrested on 22 July. The Prime Minister also gave a statement in the matter and called it shameful for the country. PM Modi said that what happened to the daughters of Manipur cannot be forgiven.
