Agartala Jul 03: Alleging unscientific routine for final examinations, students of degree colleges under Maharaja Bir Bikram University staged protest in front of MBB College Agartala, here on Monday.
Extending solidarity with the demand for change in examination routine for the 6th semester students, Bharatiya Janata Party’s student wing, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Tripura Unit also joined the protest.
Briefing the reason behind the agitation, one of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) leaders said, “The internal examination for the students in degree colleges under MBB University will be ending on July 12 as per the routine. And from July 13 itself, the final examinations are slated to be held, which is totally unscientific and unacceptable”.
“It will be gross unfair to the students if they do not get a few days of gap in between the internal and final examinations”, he said.
Mentioning that this would increase the burden on students and also affect them mentally, the students of MBB and BBMC College demanded immediate change in the routine and at least a few days gap before the commencement of final examinations for the 6th semester.
Later, a delegation of college students accompanied by student outfit ABVP representatives also submitted a memorandum to the vice chancellor of the University.
The student outfit further warned to stage a larger movement if the university authorities do not comply with the demand.
