Yasin Malik Case: The country’s two top investigative agencies NIA and CBI are at loggerheads regarding Kashmir’s separatist leader and alleged terrorist Yasin Malik. Who is Yasin Malik? ?
Yasin Malik is a separatist leader who was involved in terrorist activities in Kashmir during the 1990s. Currently, 57-year-old Malik was accused of funding terrorists in 2017. In this connection, the NIA court sentenced him to life imprisonment on May 24, 2022. The JKLF chief is also facing trial in the kidnapping of Rubia Sayeed, daughter of the then Union Home Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, in December 1989 and the killing of Indian Air Force officers in January 1990, besides terror funding.
