Agartala, June 19: An allegation on sexual harassment of a girl student of Tripura University has been raised against an Assistant Professor on Monday.
The student has been hospitalized as she fell ill after the incident.
A group of ABVP activists protested the incident and demanded action against the accused Assistant Professor.
Speaking to the media, an ABVP activist alleged that the girl student was sexually harassed by Prof. Bhupesh Debbarma of the Department of Philosophy.
According to the ABVP activists, there was viva on Philosophy (elected) in the Tripura University on Monday and when the student went for viva, she was subjected to sexual harassment by the Assistant Professor.
The incident was reported to the authorities concerned in the evening. The University authority assured that appropriate action would be taken if anything was found wrong.
