Agartala Jul 15: The Tripura government on Saturday shifted two ‘Ulta Rath Yatra’ victims to Delhi for further advanced treatment while another patient is to be shifted on Sunday.
The patients were undergoing treatment at state’s prime referral hospital GB since the mishap that took place in Kumarghat during ‘Ulta Rath Yatra’.
Tripura chief minister Dr Manik Saha on Saturday visited the GB Hospital and inquired about the patients who are still under treatment following the tragic incident.
Complying with his promise of providing all necessary assistance, Dr Manik Saha decided to send three critical patients among five to Delhi for further medical assistance.
Talking to the reporters, Dr Saha said, “Some of the persons who suffered injuries in Kumarghat ‘Ulta Rath’ tragedy are undergoing treatment at GBP Hospital. Our doctors & medical teams are delivering their best efforts to provide them treatment”.
“But to ensure sound and apt treatment, three among the injured persons are being shifted to Delhi in view of their health condition. Two of them will be shifted today by flight and another one will be sent on Sunday”, he added.
It is to be noted that, at least 8 people died in the tragic incident at Kumarghat while many sustained injuries.
The chief minister immediately rushed to the spot and assured all necessary assistance. A sum of Rs 4 lakh has already been sanctioned to the kin of the deceased.
